FLL has the project award. Which means your project was really good.

2018

Central Colorado Qualifier

During the central colorado qualifier, team 8969, Ctrl-Alt-Defeat qualified for state.

Starting off at dead last due to connectivity issues with the phone, the team climbed up to 13th place (out of 21) by the end of the matches. This is accredited to the ability to knock off the jewel and to get the relic consistently into the 2nd zone. By the end, we could get into the 3rd zone.

The team was then asked to join Team 8805, The Mustangs, for the semi-finalist rounds. This partnership was created because we could score the relic while they scored blocks. The third alliance was Team 608, Phoenix.

The alliance then continued to the finalist rounds due to winning 2/3 of the matches in the semi-finalist round. (Both matches won was the partnership between Teams 8969 and 8805)

The alliance lost the final round.

However, due to many of the teams winning many awards, Ctrl-Alt-Defeat won the qualification to go to state. On account of 2nd place, 1st choice alliance partner.

First Tech Challenge

This team competes in the First Tech Challenge hosted by FIRST.

This year the team's robot has been affectionally named 'Om'. Short for omnidirectional, on account of it's omnidirectional capabilities for maneuvering the course.

FLL

First Lego League

They're doing something. Whether it's preparing for the competition or messing around with Legos, nobody knows.

AVC

Autonomous Vehicle Competition

The Autonomous Vehicle Competition is an annual competition hosted by Sparkfun that features, you guessed it, autonmous vehicles. This year, the objective was to travel around a track in the shape of a figure eight without any driver control. So on remote controlled vehicles.

The team used ultrasonic sensors to detect objects in front of the robot dubbed Spacey. Inside, with a controlled environment, no wind, room temperature, and a flat ground, Spacey worked beautifully. It could conquer any obstacle in front of it. However, that quickly changed when 'outside' was added to the equation.

The night before, half the team remained at school until 9pm working out bugs. Spoiler alert, they never did get fixed. The competition day was full of fog, freezing fingers, and the addition of two antlers. In conclusion, the team did not get far in the competition.
